A good neighbor had back surgery over the summer. I told him right then that he need not worry about his winter wood. Today they came after the first load and left very happy. It is great to have good neighbors and we are happy to help them when they need it.

It gives both you and your neighbor a good feeling of 'doing the right thing' for a person in need. Some folks have a hard time accepting help from others, I'm glad they did. And I'm happy a person like you was generous and giving.

We can also be very thankful to them. We recently went on a trip and daily they checked on our home and even fed the birds for my wife. After the storm went through last weekend, they made a special trip here to make sure there was no damage and also helped another neighbor get our generator hooked up to keep the refrigeration going until we got home. Yes, it is good to have good neighbors.

Nice move, I would help 1 neighbor, but not the other , hes a tool.

That is a kick as trailer, and is that a farmall or is that a Massey? Looks shoot like a farmall a.
I wouldn't hesitate to help out my neighbors like that. I know mine have always done right by me. I did grow up in a house, neighborhood even, where just about all tools and services are pretty much communal. It all works out in the end.

Sorry I should have got a picture of the tractor. It is an Allis Chalmbers WD45. That used to be our big tractor!

That third picture looks like some very seasoned ash. Nice. I'm sure that wood is Backwoods approved:)

Cut in the winter of 2009-2010. All split and stacked by April 2010 and letting Mother Nature do her thing of drying the wood. One interesting thing I had not thought about until now is that all the wood we cut that year was either sold or given away. It is all gone now.

Awesome. This country needs more people like you around. It's good to have nice neighbors as well. It makes your life easier. Cheers

What goes around, comes around. Never know when you might be in a pinch and need something he can help you with.

Good neighbors are tough to come by. I got one good, and one not so much.

Appreciate the inspiration. That was no trifling, casual amount of fuel. Cool.

And he will get another load just like that one as soon as he burns that up.

I might add that only one time have I hung a saw where I needed another to get it freed. I went to this man's place and he was not there but I also went into his barn and took his saw home with me. No harm done. Yes, it is nice to have good neighbors and to have good neighbors, we also have to be good neighbors.

This is one more reason to stock up if you can; you have the ability to be generous when needed.
Amen to that brother.

I was on the other end once. After a car accident that left me not able to cut and split the log load I had in my yard, men from my church and a neighbor came and did it for me. Not just enough to get me through the winter, but the whole load.

My heart is warmed every time I think of it. Great job.

That's fantastic. The way it should be.

Thank Hickorynut. If we were closer, maybe we could also trade some wood. I'll give you 2 soft maple for every hickory for starters.
