Sparky wood burning like coal, what is it ?
Smooth bark

What color is the wood? Young hedge has smoother bark and burns like coal and can spit burning chunks farther than cousin Woodrow can spit watermelon seeds. Also burns with a blue flame. Just a shot in the dark? Hard to say without more info.

Sounds like may be it, yep blue flames and fire works, gray bark
It was in a mix of stuff I had, put a split in the stove a little while ago

Mulberry? Hedge? Just to name a couple.

My mulberry will spit sparks 10 ft out of the stove door when opened.

Reactions: Woody Stover
Some of the wood I burned this winter did that. Was aspen or cottonwood.
