Also, here is an old pic from right after I built the wood shed:

if I stack the wood 8' tall it is exactly four chords (two in each side), but the wood probably averages about 7' tall.. I fill up one half each fall, and then burn the other half over winter, so allows ~15 curing. allows a little less than 2 cords per year.

I just scored about a half cord of beech and hickory. I loves me some beech.
