I may have stumbled on a source for a big ol steam radiator that I could stand vertically (with proper supports) to set up as a gravity dump zone for my gasifier-- but since it was a single pipe steam radiator, I'd have to take out one of the plugs, and also get new fittings for both inlet and outlet, because I'll be using copper or PEX not iron, and the iron pipe stub on the radiator is pretty tired looking anyway

can anyone confirm for me whether the old iron radiators all/ almost always used "modern" diameter and pitch pipe threads?

If I go with the radiator for a dump zone, I want to make sure I don't get into some wild goose chase for some now-discontinued fitting type like I once did when doing some plumbing repairs and needing to connect into some 19th century bronze thread/compression fitting that matched __nothing__ found on any shelf in any of the multiple places I went (finally resorted to a Fernco as a work-around...)

thanks
