Hi all. Anyone know what this might be? My 5 year old USSC 5660 pellet stove just started to have this “reeling” sound from the auger from time to time. I’m guessing this is when it’s dropping fuel down into the burn pot. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

could you define Reeling noise? is it from the auger motor or auger gearbox? maybe the auger shaft?

Perhaps you need to lubricate the auger motor bearings. Mine made a squeeling noise, and a few drops of Mobil-1 5w-30 fixed it.

Im thinking you have a dry auger gear box. If your not afraid to open it up and add some new grease it may quiet down or you can just replace and keep it for a spare
