Stove noise ....

I purchased a wood pellet stove from CTC / manufactured by Englander Stove Works...model 25-PDVC.
The unit gets into a high pitched resonating noise during operation. I have tried just about everything to get it into a quiet mode. It's in a room 16' x 25' and when in adjoining rooms we can't hear our TV.
Have changed both exhaust fan and circulating room fan twice...
Does Anyone else have this model with similar issues.
Note, the company is great and are trying to help me solve the problems.

I had that model some time ago.
Had a rumbling sound. Wasn't high pitched but was quite loud.
Had to restrict the air intake to lessen it.
Might be what you are experiencing. . Worth a try.
Foil tape over part of the air intake works good.

Thanks for that info...just tried blocking sections of the air intake.
It didn't have any effect on the noise but did seem to starv the combustion.

My issue is or seems to be focussed around the heat circulating fan and system.
If the speed level is changed up or down it eliminates the high frequency noise for a few minutes then it's back......

Could be issues with the air chamber?? I can't be the only stove owner with this problem ... Stove is just too loud, plus the high frequency pitch along with it.
Anyone out there with this exac stove?

As stated I had that stove some time ago. Have you tried isolating blowers? Not sure on the newer models if you could shut the convection blower off while the stove is running. If not, I would unplug the convection blower connections inside the stove and see if you still are getting the noise. Seeing you replaced both blowers, probably not coming from the actual blower, but might help you narrow down where it's coming from at least.

I had a similar problem my first season with the same stove . Sound would come and go and usually happen in the middle of the night (of course) . What mine ended up being was the auger motors vibrating on their rests. I made "pads" out of fiberglass insulation wrapped with high temp foil tape and slid them under the motors to isolate them from the metal to metal contact of where they rest. It solved my problem . I thought it was fans and tried oiling them etc etc but this was my prob all along. May or may not be your issue but worth checking out .

You mentioned that you changed your fans twice. Did you make sure the screws that hold it in place are tightened hard? If they are loose (or if the thread is stripped) it could make a noise from the vibrations. Just a thought...

I bought the same stove from Kent last year....and had the same kind of harmonic vibration...almost a high pitched whine i could only quiet by running the convection fan on 9. While I am not sure what mounting screw actually was the issue, i ended up removing the back panel and snugging up every bolt/mounting screw i could see. Put it all back together and *poof*....no more noise.

Worth a try.....and I do feel your pain
