How do I attach the double wall pipe to the top of my wood burning stove? It fits on the ring but isn’t very stable. Does it need to be sealed with some sort of caulk? The inner tube fits nice. The outer tube sits about an inch above the stove top.

Make sure there is nothing inside of the flue collar like a casting bump that the inner layer may be hitting. If the crimped end fits snuggly in the flue collar, then the outer jacket does not need to contact the stove top.

Thanks. It does not have crimped end, though. It is a double wall DuraVent pipe. It fits pretty snug but was wondering if I should add some sealer to the joint.

If it is snug, no sealer is needed.
