A friend just purchased a house which has a barely used wood stove. Jotul f400, newer than my 2 door model.
Being we have the same stove and setups, through wall then up outside SS chimney with bottom clean out. MY question is..... His inside stove pipe is set with male up ,opposite of mine. Being that it's only 29" up to the 90 degree elbow should he flip the direction of the single wall pipe? I recommended to flip the connection .. Your thoughts? thanks in advance.

male end should point down; if stuff flows/drips down, it will end up in the stove rather than on the outside of the pipe.

I was aware of that but I didn't want to sound like a know it all. I mentioned with the outside pipe any drip would most likely end at the bottom of the Tee. With him being new to wood burning I'll try to be more convincing with my suggestion to flip the pipe. thanks for returning my message.
