Just out of curiosity the other night i turned my combustion fan way down and shut the air damper. The flame was still brisk? Dose that mean something is wrong? Just seems odd that i actually tryed to get a lazy flame and could not?
 
How tall is your chimney and is it lined? Maybe you're getting a really strong draft from it. Did you try it when it was cold or was it already warm?
