I assume the glue used for plywood is a nono in wood stoves, but how about lightweight pine used for framing such as old bed platforms? Strictly as kindling and I am already using pallet wood for kindling.

Untreated, uncoated, unglued wood is fine, even if bed slats.

What about paper and cardboard? My Father says it is fine but I disagree with him. Who is right?

I use 2x10 kd cut offs for my kindling. I have my customers pile it up on their jobs and I pick it up. It splits easy and lights fast.

It's a sure way to start plugging a cap screen if there is one.

Starting a fire with newspaper is fine. Using the stove as a garbage burner is not.

What about using newspaper or junk mail as a starter?
I usually use a little cardboard, only takes a small piece.Newspaper and mail burn up too fast so you end up using a lot if it. I also have diamond strike a fire starters from WM. Paid a couple bucks in the offseason for a box of 48 that can be broken into a few hundred smaller pieces.
