I have a hampton hi300 and have a question as to sweeping the liner. I would like to do this myself (mainly because I am cheap). I have read where I need to be able to remove the insert to clean the liner? The thing weighs over 400 lbs and not something I can move by myself. Do I have to remove the insert to clean the liner?

Look on page 13 of the manual. It tells you how to remove the baffle to clean the chimney without removing the stove.

In a word...NO!
Let me qualify that by saying that if you have a full length liner, you don't hafta pull the insert.
If your installer simply direct-connected your install you do...
