Hi,

have purchased tadpole gasket from Amazon and it's different from the picture,
seems to be the same one in Pellethead's listing (along with the fact that they also show a different picture ).

Upon receiving it looked quite different from the original gasket in weave and size.

White tape is 1 1/2" wide, the tadpole bulb is 12mm at best but was wound up in a roll so I guess that's a half inch...

I have read reviews ranging from perfect fit to too small to 'so tight it broke my glass'.

I can still return it unused to hunt down OEM,
but as this seems to be a big seller on Amazon can someone confirm to me that they have purchased this style of gasket for their Santa-fe and that it installed and operated with a satisfactory seal.

I would like to get this over and done with if it's no issue,
but at the same time don't want to take the original off and have to explain to my wife why the house is cold.

First 3 are what I received, last pic is factory seal.

Cheers,
Freddy

I'd highly suggest to get the replacement tadpole gasket from Quadrafire. I changed many of them years ago, if you don't do it right, and that glass breaks... remember that glass is expensive. Good luck

Unfortunately this is the only online accessible Quadrafire gasket available to me from Pellethead.

The Santa-fe MBK/insert version we have specifies 3/8" as the tadpole gasket in the parts list.
I could quite easily envisage this supplied gasket squashing to 3/8" but not sure whether it's measured as compressed or flounced.

One person was complaining that the newer 'OEM' supplied from Amazon/Pellethead was thinner material than previous ones so when we have replacements of replacements being what's available to us I guess I'm trying to confirm one success story with that particular heater with the newer supplied seal to make it worth the risk...

Unfortunately compared to a forum, the Amazon review system leaves a bit to be desired when trying to ascertain what particular gasket is being reviewed with fitting on an a particular model.

Cheers,
Freddy
