Thank goodness Tractor Supply told me "now is the time to cut, split and burn wood"!

Got an email this morning from Tractor Supply saying "cut it, split it and burn wood" as they are pushing their saws, stoves and logsplitters. I'm glad they told me, otherwise I wouldn't have any idea when exactly to do that! Right......I replied to it and told them "anyone that thinks NOW is the time to cut and split wood to burn this Winter is a fool", but it's probably an email that no one reads any replies to!

Well they could mean for next year. Since the weather is going to be cooling soon it's technically a better time than summer. So they aren't 100% wrong. Lol

I sweated my ass off today with this nice little hit. 3 trailer loads today and 2 more when I go back over there. The house where the wood is at is only a few blocks away. This is why I always change up my routes when i drive places. Guess tractor supply knew something today.

The stove shop down the road has a similar message on their electronic sign.

TSC is right in a way. It is getting to be that time of year again, as Applesister says. I try not to work up firewood over summer, it's just too hot and muggy for that kind of thing. Come on fall, I'm ready.

Come to think of it, I need to order a replacement baffle for our stove before too much longer. The one that's in there is on borrowed time.

Had an A-hole tree guy Cut down a Maple in April at my neighbors. The base was 36" round. He cut then 10" long. So I ended up with these frisbees. Split them in June. Most awkward logs I ever had. There 10" long. And with a 10" radius on the splits. Should I split them in half. Or keep them short and long like a cheese cake slice?

Yes, like making sure your gutters are in good shape and clear, any caulking is done that needs it, stuff like that, but NOT cutting and splitting wood to throw in the stove 2 months from now like they clearly have pictured in their ad! They've got it backwards.....

Just look at one of their ads you'll see it; they're hawking saws, splitters and stoves, and read the words (and between the lines too) and it's easy to pick up on it. They ain't talking about cutting now for next year, they mean right now!

Better yet, sign up to receive their emails; that's where it came from and it clearly said "now is the time to cut, split and burn wood for this Winter"! They're NUTS

Yeah if I was selling saws I wouldn't advertise it right before 98% of people start cutting again.......,

I stop cutting in early spring and don't start until early fall. Some people have other **** to do the rest of the year.
