Might one expect extra maintenance or issues for a wood stove with a thermal fin heat exchanger such as the Ironstrike Grandview 230? Is it a potential of needing regularly replacement? When I search "heat exchangers" in general the term is used in other forums for appliances and talk of cleaning rods, etc., Just learned of this stove today - 2.3 cu foot firebox is nice for a small-medium stove.

It's a way to transfer a bit more heat to the stovetop surface. Other than that, it's a conventional tube secondary stove with baffle boards that one needs to be careful with when cleaning.

Another couple of stoves to look at would be the Drolet Escape 1800. It is widely sold and a good value. So is the True North TN20.

The savings would easily off set not having the tax credit.
