Maybe it was a newer stock saw. ;-) Newer saws in stock form are amazingly quiet, I guess that's what happens when they only have a pea-sized hole to breathe out of. Plus heavily wooded areas really help absorb sound waves.

Knowing what I know about Calif, it does not surprise me. I am glad to see they caught up to them before anymore damange is done.
