We cut down a big silver maple in front of our house this fall and it was handy so now it's firewood.

Good thing we are gaining daylight now. You need longer days :)
Nice big pile of fire wood for next season.
Looks wet, were you working in the dark & the rain ?
Great pictures :)

Nice work, looks like you were working in the rain, like BD said! Nothing wrong with silver maple, it has its place e in any woodstack. Great daytime/startup wood, lots of great BTU's.

Thanks guys, no rain here just a bad camera to take pics in the dark.

Hey Dairyman, you can work during the daytime too. :) Just kidding. You will get some good heat from that maple.

Dennis I took your advice and wow I can see! :coolcheese: pics of the pile loaded up and stacked.

I agree.....yet another picturesque wood pile to add to the collection. We need to start some photo galleries, one for woodsheds, one for woodstacks, one for chainsaws, one for stoves, one for fireplaces, one for.....sorry guys I know I'm ramblin!!! ;-P

Good job, Dairyman. The last picture is something our drafting teacher (real long ago - in high school) would have used for an example of a 'vanishing point' when showing views with perspective. Because the stacks look to go off into the distance .. well, forever. Real nice collection of wood!
