We're a couple of weeks in with our M55 FS and I have another question..

Pellets are pouring in and overflowing from the firebox, some falling to the ash pan before burned.

These Corinth pellets are smaller in size than the few bags we burned before this delivery (one offs from Home Depot while waiting for delivery).

I have adjusted the feed trim down and am using the premium setting. No matter, they just keep pouring in.

Is there anything else I can do?

I have a mag coming this week and we'll install our wireless Tstat this week as well. At this rate we may run through a ton of pellets before we get there.

Thanks, everyone! This forum is so helpful!

I just started it up about a half hour ago and you can see here that the pellets are already thinking about overflowing the burn pot. I cleaned them off of there before starting.

Close down the adjustable auger cover in the hopper. That will reduce number of pellets delivered per auger turn.

Thank you! How would I go about doing that? I assume it's under all the pellets? I'm new to this so could use all the advice I can get.

You'll need to get the pellets low to expose the auger cover. There should be 4 bolts, 2 per side, near the top and bottom of the cover in long slots. Loosen the bolts, then slide the cover away from the top, toward the bottom of the hopper. The cover is a half cylinder which fits snugly against the closed end auger cover. YOu could go to stove-parts-unlimited in order to see a picture of the part. Hope this helps.

Perfect, thank you!!

I'm going to wait until the Mag comes on Wednesday and try to tweak everything at the same time. Level 3 isn't making it super warm and it sounds like it does for most others. Hoping that between the mag, tstat and these adjustments we'll be in good shape before it gets really cold. Didn't realize it would take so much tinkering but excited to get it performing top notch.

Thanks again for responding.

Is this only happening at start up? I notice the same thing with my Hampton GC60 but only at startup as it seems to take a while to ignite the pellets so there are plenty in the pan.

I would leave that auger cover where it is until you get the draft set with the mag. I bet when you look in there it will be at one of the lower settings. Also, do you plan to burn these pellets all season?

that picture looks normal compared to my stove. are you getting a lot of unburnt pellets or just a few? another cause of unburnt pellets is a bad draft, dirty basket blocks air flow and not all pellets burn.

but this stove does spill pellets from the basket.
