I was wondering what the laws were about transporting firewood. I live in 1 state but most of my wood is in the adjacent state. As a crow fly's its only about 10-15 miles away. Is this an issue. None of it is ash wood!
Definitely varies from state to state and sometimes county by county.
We had a situation where we were not allowed to move wood across a county line. That made things interesting for one fellow who lived in one county but his woodlot was directly across the road from him. However, he lived on the county line so legally he could not move his wood from one side of the road to the other.
I live in PA but am close to DE and MD and scrounge in all three states. Heck, Jersey is 45 minutes from here but have never scrounged there. I am not aware of any laws preventing transport around here.
Bob, we're close to the county line but not that close. Funny though, our side of the road is in one school district and the other side in a different one. This road also happens to be the township line.
My processing facility is 500 yards from the intersection of 3 counties in 2 different states! You'd chit if you knew what I went through when the USDA knocked on my door!
