I've got a Travis Industries Nat Gas fireplace, around 15-20 years old? It was in my house when I bought it so don't know exactly how old it is.
It has worked fine for around 9 years and I just started using it again since the weather has been getting colder and now it seems to be working fine (I just changed all the batteries) but it stops responding to the remote control after awhile. Basically the flame stays on, and I have it set via the remote so only the front flame comes on, but the fan stops working and the flame stays on constantly after awhile and it will no longer respond to the remote. I have to unplug the unit from AC power at that point to make it shutoff. Once I plug it back in a few hours later it seems to be working normally again and will respond to the remote but then, eventually the flame stays on constantly (only the front flame - I have the rear flame turned off via the remote) and the fan stops working again.
Does anyone have any ideas on what to try to resolve the issue? Thanks for any info!
