Playing around on the forum this morning, when I get a phone call to cut up two trees that came down in yesterday's high winds.
The first tree is a 14" dead Cherry tree, about 60 feet long dry as a bone inside. The second one a 10" dead oak about 50' long.
By the time I finished cutting them up, it filled my small pickup with a heeping load. All cut split stacked and already burning in both stoves, probably a week of 27/7 both stoves worth of wood. Not only free I got paid $100 to cut it up and remove it. This is why I have to guess at my usage. I do not draw from a fixed pile. There is so much dead wood across the street in the state land, one could do this every day of the week and a few times a day. Nothing better than heating your home with free wood?. Boy does the cherry smell sweet.
Brother Bart very funny post about the gathering very clever
