Stove in CL add
The guy said he was using it, he replaced it with an enamel stove when he did his living room remodel, he also said he could take less than 450 , he wants to get it sold so it doesn't rust in garage with summer humidity.

Any one know is this a decent stove (Model# FW300007)
What do ya think I should offer ?
I need to heat 1300 sq ft
Would this be the same ,but newer model ? ( (broken link removed to http://www.century-heating.com/en/products/wood/wood-stove-on-pedestal-model-fw3000) )

Any one, own one???

Thanks bart
I didn't know there was a rating section :)
I am wondering if secondary tubes are removable ;?

A problem with the stoves is that the steel baffle is the secondary burn assembly and it is welded in and can't be replaced. Warp it and the party is over.

I have one. The label on the back says it's the 3000 but the firebox dimensions don't match up with the new ones. Tubes are removable and the baffle is not welded in.[Hearth.com] Used Century Stove Worth $450 or best

Good to know that replaceable tubes are in that model.

Thanks, and for the pic to :)
I did find the tubes in replacement parts , they hook on with some stainless steel pins

What is a C-CAST BAFFLE ?
Is c cast, the type of material it's made of ?

I own the small version of that stove. My baffle is welded in.

The old Centurys were sold at Lowes. The guy probably paid that price for it new, but it should be a real good stove. I like my little one.

So far the info I found people say it is a good stove.
I'm thinking if he won't take 350 he can keep it ,but I think he will , he said on the phone, he doesn't have to get 450.
Price for a new one ,I found 665 to 899, but that is now, not 5 or 6 years ago.
I guess back then they didn't come with Blower ,cuz None on It

Forgive me if this post is late (for some reason, the posting date is not displaying, just the posting time).

I paid $450 new in 2009 for the insert version of that stove. The stove/insert works fine (it has the removable tubes) but the box is small.

THis stove/insert is good for:
- occasional users (me)
- those who want to seal up better a leaky masonary fireplace (me)
- those who have a masonary fireplace with broken flue tiles (me... an insulated steel liner makes the broken flue tiles irrelevant).
- those looking for an economical stove/insert (me)

This stove is NOT good for those who want to run the stove near continously or as a primary heat source. The box is way too small.

It is a nice stove but you could get a bigger stove and it be new at Lowe's Or Home Depot.
