I got this stove used and when the blower turns on it smells like dog. Bad. It smells bad. What could I do to maybe help with the smell.
Oh man that's just too nasty. Warn wet dog smell from your stove. Too nasty. I would just disconnect everything, take it outside, pour gasoline all over it and light it. That's it. I wouldn't have that thing in my house.Check the convection blower for matted hair sticking to the cage.
Haha, I see what you did there...Youre not burning pellets made from dogwood are you?.....lol
I was going to tell you to have your dog move away from in front of the stove, but... nevermind. The last owner had dogs. Lots of dogs. That's why it smells. Now it's in my house with no dogs.
You get Indeck pellets out there too? They smell like swamp gas, haven't had the pleasure of trying to smell em burning. No but I have burned three different pellet brands in a basket in a wood stove. And if any of them just smelled like what comes out of the South end of a dog, it would be an improvement.
I bought some blended pellets and they smell very pleasant burning. Good right out of the bag too and that's good as the Elena has a open hopper.Smelling any burning pellet I have a hard time believing that they are made of wood.
