short answer yes. long answer see below.
first row of n/s splits need to be 14" or less if you want it to fit below the lip, if you want it to rest on the lip you can probably get away with 16" on the first row of a n/s load. you can do 1 to 3 rows of exclusive n/s loading if the splits are not too large in diameter. The fire box is 1.9 cu ft. For me i like to load n/s small splits on the first row and e/w large splits on the top row.
The specs claim a 8 hour burn time is achievable, i have not been able to achieve this (but i guess it depends on what your definition of burn time is) usually when i load at say 12am and i wake around 7am the stove is about 300 degrees from the coals and maybe a small blue flame here and there. Overall i am satisfied with it, but if i had to do it again i think i would go with something with a bigger firebox.
