Yesterday morning I shut the Advantage II down and allowed it to cool off.

I did a general cleaning and then decided to remove the fire brick backs and also the inside ash baffles too.

My My My, amazing at how much ash had accululated in those innner nooks and crannies.

I had not pulled the ash baffles out since last winter when I installed the stove.

I did the install back in February and ran it off and on until June.

The importance of cleaning these areas can't be stressed enough.

As soon as I cleaned the beast out reall well the difference in the airflow through the fire pot was quite noticeable.

The stove was still working fine but just decided to do a good cleaning before we get into the real tough part of winter.

A clean stove is a Hppy stove as is the owner too.
