Looking for some recommendation's and opinion's. Our water softener just stopped working, when it tries to start it makes a grinding noise then stops working. Asked some folks and they say the head is shot and it's not worth fixing. So I am now looking for a replacement.
Thank's,
Chris

Thanks eba1225, going out shopping in the morning I'll take a look at the Water Boss. Thought I saw them at HD or Lowes.

If you haven't already done so, use the search - I recall that this has come up a few times, so you may find some more suggestions...

We have been through many different water softeners only to learn that we will never use anything but a Kinetico system. They are pricey but they take no power what so ever to run and the quality of our water is excellent. We hardly ever have to even put salt in it. No maintenance what so ever.

Thanks all, I think I have it figured, the grinding noise was coming from the motor that drives the gear. if I tap the motor when it goes to start it works if I don't tap it the motor gets warm and stops. Been looking for a new motor, they go from 40 to 70 dollar's on line.
