My sons and I worked this last weekend and got all of the wood in

The stacks are hard to tell how big they are but here goes
stacks are 6 rows deep and 4 ft 10 in high by 14 ft long
So that is .7 cords per row
That equals 4.2 cords

I had 3.8 cord in last year and it was a ruff winter and I used it all so this year I put in a little more
Also I have some reserve outside if needed.

I decided this year to put up pallets on each end (2 sets) and stack on pallets instead of on spare lumber like usual and it worked much better.

So do you have your in yet?

Wow, that's great news. I'm all set myself. 5 face cords in the garage and 11 out on the back pad that we will nibble away at first. 16 is a little much but last winter we went through 12. Some say this winter will be colder than last, so we just wanted a little extra. :)

Good job Nordic.

If feels great being ready and now it is time to get a couple years ahead.

That is after I have a beer and watch some football this weekend :)

Long time done.

Now just cutting for fun. Working on the 3 year plan.

I have about 15 cord percolating. That should be enough for 2 yrs at least and i have Oct & Nov to work on year 3 yet. Sure wish i had an idea how much wood my new Austral will use.

We took it on the chin last spring here in Michigan so, like you, I am hopefully over prepared with 5.5 stashed inside to burn this winter vs. my 4 cord last year. In a perfect world we have less vortex and I end with some left behind to start next years stash. I like to be all set before bow season starts.

Sitting on about 4 yrs worth including this coming Winter's. Have about 10 face cords of rounds that still need splitting. Other than that, I just rotate the stacks as needed. It does feel good to get ahead. Glad I took Dennis'(aka :Backwoods Savage) advice when I first joined this site. Nice to be ahead for alot of reasons. :)

Where is Dennis?

Looking good. Feels great to mark that off your dance card, doesn't it? :)

Sorry, my mind went to the gutter and I just could not ask a man if his is in yet . . .;em
That's funny right there. If you have to ask a man if his wood is in yet, well.... Not that I would know or anything. ;)

We're a couple years ahead, got more red oak than usual this time around. That's the couple years part. Don't feel like the Lone Ranger, getting it wrapped late. We finished splitting and stacking in early summer after months of rain and mud kept me out of the woods. Could get in, just couldn't get back out with a load. The little tractor would mire down. That was a battle I'd prefer not to repeat anytime soon.

For this season coming we have 3+ cord of mixed that's been stacked two years. There's over a cord of 8-month-old red maple splits I could call up if needed. It's peeling bark already. About half a cord left over from last winter is at our disposal as well. Good thing, too if this winter becomes anything like the last one. The SheWolf likes it toasty warm in here.

He is alive and well. I have 3 years ahead and just finishing splitting and stacking another 12 cord for year 4. prices are getting so high around here it might be worth while to sell some, but its really really hard to part with any.
