I have a Regency F2400 free standing stove. It’s about 4 years old. We’re from PA and have had some really hot humid summers. The top of the stove and door have developed a slight surface rust. What’s the best product out there to give it a good cleaning and refinish it? Getting everything ready for the burning season!

The best refinishing product is elbow grease. Use some steel wool, coarse to take off the rust, then a fine grade to smooth out the surface and remove any scratch marks. Then, wipe down the stove with denatured alcohol, clean with a tack rag. Use Stove Brite Satin Black in rattle-cans to paint. Do this in a very well-ventilated area. Use 3 light coats. The paint dries quickly so usually 30 minutes between coats is good. A full repaint will take 2 cans.

The new paint will smoke a bit for the first few fires until it has baked in. Open a window or two with a fan exhausting the fumes.
