I'm not lighting up yet....... not yet.

Side note: Liner in the chimney is shot. Got my last season out of it. Honestly don't want to replace it. Tired of the basement thing.
Longing for an outdoor unit but, looks like a new liner will be in store for the season.
So tired of the process here with feeding the dragon in her lair.

See what happens.....
Man fall hasn’t even started yet!!

Feels a bit like it here. Nights have recently been in the 40s. Days are getting short with the sun setting sooner.
I'm already felling winter's weight.

Trucks been in and out of the shop most of the summer. I've missed so much free wood. I have a decent amount but, not enough for a whole season. I'm going to look into a 6-7cord log truck of ash. Still working on the 3yr stockpile plan and don't want to burn everything up this season.

Sounds like you’ve had a rough go lately. I’d offer my services to fix your truck if I was closer (profession by trade). Keep those spirts up!
Thank you, my friend. I used to turn wrenches as my 1st trade. That was over 35yrs ago.

1st, the transmission decided to grenade. Being spoiled with a lift, I had no inkling to pull and swap.... on my back in a gravel driveway. Done it before and said never again. LOL

2nd it had some running, occasional no start, and "reduced power'' issues. Dropped it off at a friend's place. He's well known and tinkers on the side. Took him awhile to figure that one out. He's got a full time day job and wrenches on the side. Turns out, it most likely needs a computer. He did fix a couple problems though and it's much better.

I miss the old days of simplicity automobiles. I think i even remember how to set points.....LOL.
Spirits are up. It takes a lot to drag me down. When that happens, I shake it off and push onwards.

Again, thanks...it's appreciated.

Gotta ask, what’s the rig?

'04 Silverado 2500HD. It'll haul a load of wood in the bed for sure. That much I'll give it. Other than that, i never liked or wanted the truck. My DD was in a collision. I miss my diesels. Chev's got a 6.0l and doesn't like to pass many gas stations. After having a few diesels, I'm not fond of gas trucks anymore. Trying to keep some coin saved and put myself behind another Cummins. The wrecked truck was a 7.3l F250....

Sigh......getting there. LOL

Tossed this big knotted hunk of box elder on the fire pit about 8hrs ago, still about half of it left. I’m guessing I’ll have a nice bed of coals in the morning.

just about 24hrs later, there’s a chunk of box elder, the new iron wood, left and some red embers. I rolled it over, tossed some bark, kindling and small splits on it. I’ll report back in an hr or so if it re-lights on its own.
