really the wife, I’d just grab another blanket.😂
Same.
One hard winter, years ago, I spent in a camper with no heat. Just to see if I could do it. I just sandwiched myself between 2 old school, heavy sleeping bags. It worked and I saved myself some coin when I needed to as a young adult.

In a sense, I wish I could do that now to save coin. LOL
Work's been that slow.

Woke the T2 from its long slumber. Haven't run it in a couple seasons.

An airy reload of two splits of oak and the rest some less ideal shaped maple.

26 outside, 70 upstairs. Will be warming up and most of the night will be 37 according to the forecast.
Tomorrow 47 cloudy and rainy so I'll let the stove go cold and use solar electrons in the mini split. Tomorrow night likely a cold start as the low then will be 33.

Tonight’s load of red oak, white oak and hard maple. Some BTU right there. 👍🏼

This afternoons load was just what the doctor ordered. Nice hot, steady burn. Brought the house temp right up in all rooms. Tonight, All oak with 1 maple and some cut offs. Finally will get above freezing tomorrow, plus I have work, so other than tomorrow morning stove will be cool after that and I’ll clean out ashes on Thursday.

Another hot one at 750STT

Third pic down, bark facing us. The rectangle below it is maple, and the piece ontop of it is maple. I’m 90% sure the other mystery piece was ash.
I'm guessing Alaskan palm....

Burned some solar electrons today after noon when the maple of last night was done. It was 48 today for the high, but windy.

Took those dang maple ashes out in the afternoon while there was still some draft.

Now lit it back up with a small split of red oak, a small split of that maple, and a thin (axe mishit) slab with sapwood and bark on top.

Proper load later tonight.

41 and light rain outside, upstairs 71.
Red oak and maple. A few uglier pieces, so no good tetris.
But going down to only 32, so it'll be fine.

The other morning we had - 11.3 in the morning, the temps up here were 65 & 66 with the basement at 70.

Tonight it's 29.4, the basement is starting out at 75 with the temps up here 70 & 71. The overnight load is 5 splits of beech.

11 outside with 72 inside. Temps are supposed to keep dropping toward 0 over the next week. Trying to save my Alaskan Palm for the really cold temps so I'm keeping the Jotul 602 well fed with Sitka Spruce instead.

No overnight loads here unfortunately, the spruce just burns too quickly so I have to send Jurassic vegetation and old dinosaurs up into the heavens to keep the house warm until morning. Looking forward to next year when I can cut into my seasoned birch pile.

Yesterday mornings (last photo) and this mornings. Came out and cleaned out some ash and wiped the glass down. Still had hot coals buried in the ash, but cold started stove any way. Oak and ash this morning, yesterday was mostly oak I think 🤔.

After a few days of rather mild temps and Xmas dec solid for most of the past 7 days , it’s just grey and wet here with zero solar. 15C/59F is too cold to hang out in the house so the little Panadero is back illuminated and almost free is cheaper than elec

28 out / Feels like 15. Wife says it's only 70 in here. Put more wood on the fire. :ZZZ 😁

Cold and breezy out. Same inside. LOL

Actually not to bad in here. Dragon is sipping on maples and a mix of red and white oaks. A few splits going in here and there. I do feel the drafts floating by. Sat down to check in.

Attorney is hired and they are eager. They also are going to help push the right channels so we can buy out the previous owner POSs.
Along with that, it's my turn to draw blood......so to speak.
