Those curved 6 splits of rock hard red oak + punky sapwood from 6 pm last night is done after 16"
30 outside, still snowing with 4-ish inch on the ground. Going to cool down during the rest of the day . 70 upstairs.

Going to run it higher to pre charge the basement with heat for tonight.

Adding some uglies. 2 white oak, the rest red. Man what a mess is this stack. I did some stupid things 4 years ago...

I ran a full load of spruce hard last night from 630pm to 6am this am. House up to 73. On the way out the door for work this am I loaded up with red and white oak for the cold temps coming today into tonight. Will see how she did tomorrow am. 👍🏼

Le chat est heureux
Oui, mais, elle attend son repas…C’était l’heure après le feu est illumé

Est adore le poêle aussi

My français n’est pas très bon!

Ha! Yeah, this cat has an eating disorder and right after the fire is lit it is typically her dinner time

She’s pretty funny, a couple weeks ago, as I lit up the blow torch to light the woodburner; she jumped on my shoulder !😨

Happy cat happy life doesn't rhyme...
Ha! I have 5 cats at the moment…that one (Anika) is certifiable…she is really small, and mostly doing something naughty

She showed up here 2 years ago…we thought she was pregnant…nope, she had a quite serious worm issue…so her brain is wired for intake of food…it’s proving very difficult to manage

The big white cat I have I believe to be mentally ill. It has been a challenge, but they have it good around here!

The moment I make movements by the stove our cat is rubbing against me and thanking me.

Some spruce on the coals of the oak uglies of 10 am.
Outside 26 feels like 21. Windy.
Upstairs 70.

Waiting for a full reload to be done later this evening; want to do that later because it'll get colder tonight.

Shop stoves been lit for the first time this year. Mix of wood scraps in it plus a poor birdy that got stuck in it.
Those birds in particular sure love wood stoves, I’ve had several of the same species down my flue. One time we were away for a week and ended up with 7 dead in the box.

Very cold here this evening, currently sitting at 8F. Got home a little late this evening and the heat pump had kicked on. So i got a few pieces of cherry going on wide open to warm up quick before loading red oak and hickory to carry us overnight.

9* with a real of -10. Forecast overnight drop of one more deg.
Dragon is currently feasting on shorts and uglies. Along with some 2-3'' sticks of barkless black ash. Comfortable inside. Even the cold end isn't bad. Feels like 68 to me. Been feeding the girl red and white oaks to get the house up to temp for the low overnight.

Fresh load of mixed hardwood in the truck. Freshly tossed in today that is. Not opening the lair till tomorrow. Will use the canvas tote bag to bring in a few arm loads to help with overnight consumption and the mornings coffee snack.
