what kind of wood is this ?

Back in November an F2 tornado come thru the back side of my property which is alot of wooded area with most shagbark hickory. I have a few trees pictured and dont know what kind of wood this is. Started splitting this today. Anyone know what this is ?

I am tossing out my guess -- Hickory. Not sure which type but that middle to me says hickory.

Guess is walnut family (walnut, pecan, hickory). Any pictures of twigs with buds?
 
Well I'm going go with as some type of hickory. I know when I split the larger pics its kinda stringy like shagbark.
I'm going to Google the types of hickory trees there are.

If it is Hickory it should have a manure smell to it when split. If not it could be some type of Maple.

Looks like black walnut to me.
 
Its some kind of walnut. No pi$$ smell. Got all split and stacked in barn. Smells like fresh spilt walnut. Side be side the bark looks same. Only difference is one has darker center than other.
