What type of oak is this

I consider any free oak a good score!
 
Just a heads up that your license plate is on the internet.
 
Looks like the same stuff i picked up..scarlet oak..a type of red oak. The heartwood looks black..
 
The kind that takes a few years to dry.

Might be pin oak.
Did it have a lot of branches sticking straight out perpendicular to the trunk sorta like a pine/christmas tree ?

By the time I saw it it was smashed on ground and 6840 lines wrapped around it with a broken pole too
 
That could be a pin oak. Most definitely not a white oak.
 
The pin oak I've had didn't have that dark heartwood. I'm guessing some kind of red oak

For sure not white oak
