Just a quick question for you experienced burners. When loading your boiler for the night do you fill the stove to the top? Leave any gaps? Pack it in tight?

Depends how much heat I think I'll need. If it's a really cold night I'll pack it as tight as I can. Of course, that's with a downdraft gasifier. Other types of wood burning appliances my behave differently.
