When poplar turns into white oak

Had a client call yesterday and ask if I wanted to come pick up some poplar from his house. He had just two trees dropped and bucked. Of course I said yes. Pulled into the drive way and saw what he called poplar was actually white oak and hickory.

Doesn't say much for the tree guys who brought them down! Home owner/client was told it was poplar.
