Pellets for European biomass boilers are a different lower transported in bulk. Definitely a different product than bagged of bulk delivered fuel for pellet stoves.

I've always understood that the base of the products is the same. If so, does this take away supply to the companies that make pellets for consumer use?

I guess it depends on where in the country you are, most of the new england pellets are sawmill residuals and low grade wood from logging operations.
