Is there a way to build a metal firebox around an insert so that it can be used as a freestanding stove? Is there any type of conversion kit available? I have the insert but no fireplace. Do I have any good
options so that I can use it safely?

If the manufacturer did not authorize your insert's installation in a structure other than a masonry or
Zero Clearance fire place, then you cannot safely install it that way. If it wasn't tested the way you
want to use it, then its safety is a BIG question that has NO answer.
