Hi!

Just moved to new house that has a VC WinterWarm Small installed. This stove is a huge change from the Quadra-Fire Cumberland I had at my other house. But I need to make this burner work for this year...
I have a Condar Catalytic Probe Thermostat that I want to install...but can not find and instructions on how to do it. Can anyone on the forum put me in the right direction?? Thanks!

Just wondering if you found your information to install the probe.

Oooo. It's just a prober thermometer?! You must drill a hole in your stove pipe and slide the probe in there. There's a magnet on the probe that holds it in place. Install the hole 18 inches above the stove top (in the pipe). Make the hole 3/16ths of an inch.

Also, make sure you're putting this in a double wall stove pipe. That's what the application is for. However I think it will work on a single wall as well.

Actually, the WinterWarm has a hole predrilled in the back of the unit so the probe goes right beneath the cat converter.

To install the probe you need to pull the unit out of the fireplace. If you have a decent hearth, turn it sideways up on the hearth. On the very back there should be an access panel that allows access to the probe. If it doesn't have an access panel, you'll have to remove the sheet metal jacket that's around the stove.

Have you removed the fire back and inspected the combustion package and cat? These parts are pretty prone to failure.
