I feel like the install number are all over the map. Does anyone know whats the average cost to do a install on a gasser?

Oh man, Pologuy, there is no simple answer to that question.

Self install or hiring it out? Storage or not? If so, pressurized or open? Basement install with existing chimney or not? Underground lines? etc, etc.........

I know this doesn't really help your situation but maybe with more info regarding what you want to accomplish we can try come up with a number that *might* be close.

I started from scratch with my system as my house only had a wood stove. My entire system cost me right at $15K with me doing all the work and not counting my time at all. I could have saved a little here and there but hydronics are spendy, especially if you want to do it right.

The link in my sig will give you a pretty good idea of what I was able to do with that amount of dough. I am REALLY happy with the efficiency, comfort and convenience that I get with this system. Now I just hope to get a bunch of years of dependable operation. With best practices and routine maintenance I don't see why I wont.

Good luck,

Noah

And you definately want to do it right the first time. Changes can drastically drive the cost up.

As Noah said, a lot of variables that can't be narrowed down w/o more info on what you want to accomplish.

Installation scenarios are also all over the map - all kinds of variables in that one.

Comes down to what you have now, and what you want to end up with.

I am around $15K just in materials. That's without the storage tank which I would budget ~ $3K for (new). I would budget ~$25K if I had to install the same system for a customer with the storage tank, OAT reset, stainless chimney ... That number could be tight ...
