Trying to figure out if this is oak or not. I know there are a lot of red/white oaks in the surrounding area that were cut at the same time. The ends of the tree appear to be a little lighter than red oak but the bark doesn't look like the other white oaks. Leaves have rounded points (pic to follow). Thanks!

This is one of the leaves that I plucked off

Definitely a red oak of some sort. Possibly a Turkey Oak.

Looks like red oak to me. Where are you located?

Now it looks more like a Southern Red Oak

That's a new one!For burning on Thanksgiving. Is it the tree, or just the turkeys roosting in it?
