Wood Sheds - plans, suggestions

I want to build a 4-5 cord shed. Any location or suggestion on plans, etc?

What works the best you all so far?

i would go 3 sided with a single sloped roof. aim the open front away from the weather of course. doubt u wanna go this fancy...but i know groundhogs love to dig under the woodpile and a concrete pad solves that problem. it also avoids the need for pallets or something stack the wood one. also my friends who built one wish they had use 3/4 t1-11 instead of 3/8 because they have put a few holes in their walls from throwing wood against it and from a pile falling...being careful would avoid this tho.

p.s-if u dont already have one it sounds like a good time to buy a nail gun. i bought one three years ago when i built my 15x20 shed....it made it so much easier.(my mom almost made me hammer it all cause i was only 12 at the time...)

I have always thought this was a fabulous idea, don't knock it until you see the photos. It is a wood shed built out of pallets.

I saw this years ago on GardenWeb, now that I actually have need of a wood shed it is looking mighty nice.

I built a rustic wood shed out of logs.
I havested standing de-barked logs for the post and beam construction.
I conected them with metal straping and barn nails.
I errected them on reclaimed sidewalk slabs.
I used re-cycled 2x6's for the support.
I sided it with Red Oak, which I purchased really cheap from a local sawmill.
Then I put on a metal roof on purchased treated 2x4's.

All in all it has worked out really good. Keeps snow off but still ventilates.

This holds 3.5-4 cords. No plans, but very simple to make.

If I may, woodheat.org has some OK plans for a cheap woodshed. When I build one this coming spring/summer, I plan on using that as a rough guide.

That is the most tightly packed shed I've ever seen in my life! Nice.
I also like the idea of using pallets in construction, doesn't have to be entirely made from pallets though. I used pallets for the floor and around the sides of mine. I also used a carport from Costco but could do the same (pallet floor and walls) with any shed.

In other words, you scrounged around and built it very inexpensively. Nice! It looks great. That's what I want to build.

Hey thanks to all! Its a place to start. Lots of pallets running around the area too.

I'll have to figure out the "open side" with the weather, its shifts around since I am just up off the river.
