Question:
We have been comparing soap stone stoves made by Woodstock and Hearthstone. A dealer told us that Woodstock uses inferior iron castings for their stoves (not as thick). Do you know where they get their castings and if they are thinner than other manufactuer's? Do you know anything about their stoves regarding quality and the company as a whole (customer service)?
Answer:
I doubt that their castings are much different than others on the market. Both companies are known for high-quality stoves. I've know the people from both compaines for over a decade, and they are both quality-driven.
HearthStone markets through a dealer network, and Woodstock is (mostly) direct. The styles of the two brands area also quite differerent. Look at features, price and service to make your final decision.
