dh---Ah I hope he is till eating somewhere....clancey
I tossed him into a woody area I’m sure he will find a new log to call home 👍🏼

more likely that a bird will find him.
I found many of these in dead standing pitch pines we took down. Throw them away, get some water, come back, and birds galore getting their protein shots for the day.

No ATV's and no log dragging, in Idaho?? Good grief

Not on forest land. No cutting by streams or campgrounds, no cutting wildlife trees, etc.... Rangers check you too. ATV's allowed but they pretty much have to stay on roads or designated trails. I went back 5 days later to pick up what I had left - it was gone!!!! Damn, I cussed for 10 minutes "....cut your own damn wood!......asshxxxxs!......etc...." He took about a cord but left a few ant infested rounds - how kind of him/them. Oh well, I moved 200 yards and cut down 3 more small trees. The e-barrow worked good going up hills - made it much easier.

Technically no motorized equipment to get firewood - and an electric wheelbarrow does have a motor. So we'll see how it goes. I called and the Forest Service person was unsure.

The month of December has been cold here. I have been just keeping the garage full and stoves fed. Going to be another cold weekend with temps in the teens for lows.

I wish! We'll be -15, won't have highs in the teens 😂.

Today I spent a good chunk of the day plowing and snowblowing before doing a Red Cross blood drive.

We received 10 -12 inches of snow overnight so two driveways were plowed along with a bunch of trails, the old hands were getting cold so I came inside.

I'll be back at it tomorrow with both the snowblower and the tractor. We could get another 3 - 7 tonight.

Jealous here...
We had some snow, season was progressing nicely, then it warmed up and rained. It's gone, pretty much all of it.

I measured 18 inches on the ground here. With a possible warmup coming in Wednesday & Thursday I moved a shitload of snow out of certain areas and pushed all that down in the woods.

Before that I used the snowblower, that was a nice workout.

Just got a load of logs delivered.
Now the work begins. Trying to get a couple years ahead so I am nut under the gun to get the firewood hauled out of the woods and cut up.
Hopefully have this all cut and split by spring. Before the bugs come out.

After clearing the snow from where we put the wood in and then snowblowing a path to the wood stack the other day, we finally put two loads of firewood in today, we might do another two tomorrow.

All the plowing has put us behind getting wood in.

Plowed out me and the neighbors driveway. Was hoping I would have the Deere 1023e I ordered in by friday but should be ready Monday.

The polaris still works like a charm though with the custom fit plow

28 out, feels like 22. Shoveled the driveway and steps to the front door, cleaned off two cars. Two hours.
6" we got,. bottom half wet and heavy, last stuff drier and powdery.

After coffee the day started out putting in more wood and then roof raking and clearing that snow with the snowblower. I had the tractor block heater plugged in for 3 hours so I jumped on that and moved more snow until 2:45. I also cleared a bunch of trails for walking that I didn't get to the other day because of the cold.

I had promised my wife that we would have some chops in a onion gravy for supper, after a snooze in the recliner, I made supper.

Looks great, I never had it that way before.

1. Make a cup of chicken stock.
2. Slice up a good size onion and then cut those slices in half.
3. Salt, Pepper and powdered garlic (diced up garlic would be better) both sides of the chops.
4. Spread parsley and rosemary on the first side, push it down on the chop, repeat on the other side.
5. Put some oil in a non stick pan on med to high, brown each side good, you can determine the time, 3-4 minutes per side?
6. Add more oil if needed to pan and turn the heat down and then add the onions, once they are done add the chicken stock, some Worcestershire Sauce. Scrape down the pan with a wooden spoon.
7. Add the chops back in and cook for about 8 minutes turning them over at the 4 minute mark.
8. This isn't my recipe, I saw it on a cooking show.

Now Im hungry again, I’m going to try this towards the end of the week! Thank you.

No firewood work but with a big warmup coming in with rain, I decided that a few more areas would get cleared of snow with the snow blower. After I did that, it was moving more snow off the side of the driveway, into the woods.

I have a few areas that I'll roof rake tomorrow and that should be it.
