I got a whack of stuff done today, just kept moving! Highlight was making a dog snowmobile seat out of stuff laying around, needs refinement, will need to buy a few bungees at least, and add some support.

[Hearth.com] Work Done 2025

Got a bunch of motorcycles put away, batteries out for the season, snow moved, two wood stoves cleaned, 1 stove cat vacuumed and blown, accidentally ripped a few holes in the snowmobile shelter, fixed a few holes in the snowmobile shelter, Jerry rigged a headlamp charger got the Christmas tree in and up... *ALL* my laundry done, even some that I was wearing. Feeling pretty accomplished. Even have a small list started for tomorrow!

Maybe I'll find some motivation from this.....maybe not. LOL
I've got a list too. Definitely have a bunch to do today....or not. LOL

Winter makes me somewhat lazy. always has since my injuries. It's damp cold today. Low 30s forecasted so that dampness will want to soak in. I prefer the dry cold.

First a second cup of joe, then start picking away at the never ending list of "To do."

Family was away for the whole day, I *had* less excuses.
Dog had to be exercised and I needed to find a way to maximize his exercise while minimizing mine!
A lot of it naturally flowed, when one thing has to be done before you can start the thing you actually need to do...

My basement rack is getting a bit empty/neglected, I should probably fill it today, as well as shut down the wood burners!!! It's about 45°f here, and supposed to rain...!!!
I like winter, if it's going to be a real winter... I'm all geared up for it... our snow is going to disappear, and back to square one!!!
What to do with rainy winter?

Ran to the dump and dropped off the venison trimmings today after getting the truck going and before the snow gets here. Supposed to get somewhere between 2" and 10" depending on what you choose to believe. Truck wouldn't start yesterday because I didn't plug it in and we were -10 a couple of nights ago. Plugged it in yesterday and let it sit overnight and started OK today. Added some anti gel additive to the tank. Plugged it back in when I got home.

Sheared the shear pin on the UTV plow last time using it and the new one isn't here yet, so put a butter bolt and lock nut in so I can at least push the snow away from the area's that are too far for the snowblower to throw it. Stupid special shear pin is $40...

Lots of putzy little projects being pecked at...

Cleared the rest of the lair's entry of splits. Closed it off tight for the cold spell. Splits were stacked near the dragon. "Daytime" and premium splits respectively in separate stacks. Loaded pickup with more splits and parked in front of the entry. Will open it up tomorrow with the warmer temps. Today's high was a slightly breezy low 20s.

Gathered all documentation for my appointment tomorrow with the attorney, for the upcoming battle of retaining possession of this house. Will be taking a few supporting photo's as well before I go.

i have plenty of time to work the woodyard some tomorrow before leaving. Appointment is at 4pm.

Good luck man!

go get them anm!
Here's to good lawyers (that we all hope we won't ever need)!

Agreed!

Not to be cynical, but isn't a good lawyer about as common as an honest politician...? 😜 Although the definition of "good" in this instance means something different...
Please don't jinx me....LOL.
Seriously, the good laughter is welcomed.

Good means fighting for whomever pay them. And that applies to both, when it should only apply to one of them.
But I'm skirting the edge of rules and am far beyond the topic of the thread, so I'll leave it at wishing a good outcome, and some stability for ANM.

Goodluck with the attorney. Did I miss something with your chimney liner? I thought you weren’t able to burn yet because it was loose or something?

Understood. Just making a funny... I think we're all wishing ANM a quick and positive outcome.

Back on topic. Pulled some equipment batteries this afternoon (late) and cleaned a bit in the garage.

Thank you and yes, the horizontal part of the T in the bottom of masonry chimney is loose, and always has been. Well before my use included. With the recent cold snap of single digits, we decided to continue it's use. I'll be keeping a close eye on draft and creosol accumulation.

Where is that old Woodland anyway for he has not been on for awhile and hoping he is just fine..clancey
He is still contributing to the "What's in your stove?" thread. Just hasn't been here recently.

I was in the woodyard busting up some junk rounds today and doing a general cleanup from this falls processing. I came across this thing in an old either pine or spruce piece of stump wood I split up. He’s been eating good!
