Working up a tree today

Last spring I had a rather large tree fall in the back corner of my property in the woods, today is the perfect day to get out there and cut it up into logs. I will post pic's as I go along, I have a good case of cabin fever and haven't been able to cut wood for a few months so this will be the perfect work up to start 2018, the wood will be used for season the second half of season 19-20.

Good plans foiled again, I got the machine all loaded up, chains, saw, axe, cut a path down to the tree and discovered it was a huge poplar that was half rotted, now I’m unloading the machine and hoping on the quad to do some scouting

The 1st pick was the tractor all loaded up ready to go, the 2nd and 3rd was me operating our FD’s tanker yesterday at a house fire. I made the call because I wasn’t in the woods working, weird how things happen. Anyway this fire is believed to be woodstove related, an investigation is occurring, thankfully there were no injuries, the home is a complete loss, we had a hard time with access to to a narrow and very icy 1/2 mike long driveway.

Wow. Not having home insurance sure is a gamble. I think I would work a part time job just to have something.
