I have a burning dust smell from my Yukon combo wood/propane furnace after several fires this fall and seems to occur while just burning propane. Going to tear it apart today and investigate. Replaced the filter already. Going to check for cracks and maybe mice in insulation. Anything else I should be looking for? Also I assume finding a heat exchanger or firebox for it will be impossible since they went out of business.

It's more than just the typical "first time fired for the year" dust burning off smell? My guess would be mouse nest.
If you are determined to keep that machine long term, I'd keep my eye out for a newer used one to buy...they went stainless steel on the HX somwhere in the late 90s/early 2000s...they sold a bunch of them, so you actually do see them pop up for sale now and again, sometimes pretty darn cheap! Heck there was a brand new unused one popped up here a year or two back...

I thought it was just first time being fired up smell but it persists. Could very well be mice going to take the sides off and investigate
