Just wanted to pass along the latest response I received from BKVP on ther new stoves. Looks like they are still trying to get them out for this season.
Hello all. Sorry for the delay in responding, I have been in the great state of Alaska for the past few weeks. One poster mentioned they had called my offices and spoke with a lady in the staff that indicated the Ashford would not be available until March of next year.
That most definitely is NOT our goal! And the staff have been updated and we are sorry for the confusion.
We have two new stoves that we hope to release this Fall. The first is nearly complete. The second, the Ashford is a bit more challenging.
The Ashford designs were changed just over two weeks ago, throwing wrench into the works. No images are available at this time, sorry. As for size, it will be based on the same firebox the Chinook 30 is based upon. Yes it will be steel with cast body.
As for size of firebox, a few of you guys mentioned there is little demand for stoves larger than our King at 4.27 cu. ft. You are correct. Additionally, acheiving EPA emissions is more difficult as the size of the firebox increases.
Now I need to get back to work......so take care and enjoy!
Chris
