I was recently given a chainsaw that has been in its box in a garage for 25-30 yrs. I replaced a fuel line, cleaned the plug, added gas, and BAM! it started, and cuts! Im real surprised. Its a Craftsman 20 inch. What a find!
I have my dad's 14" McCullough Eager Beaver. It's at least 25 years old. The cord, bar and chain are the only things replaced. It's been stored for years at a time, the gas has never been drained for storage and never fails to start. I used it this week and it hums through the appropriate sized wood. I expect you'll have your 'new' craftsman for a looong time.
