So I have looked at these stoves online and the only place that seems to sell them is home depot......is this correct?...I want to get one ordered but is home depot the only option?

Also sold under the names Timberidge and SummersHeat.

Found at Lowe's usually.

Mine came from home depot. Actually it gets delivered factory direct, "sold" by home depot is more accurate. It's a great value stove but support will be from the manufacturer and not a local dealer. In this modern age it's time for more manufacturers to sell direct or with a low overhead middle man like a big box store.

Lowes sells under the Summer's Heat brand. Home Depot sells under the Englander brand. NorthernTool sells under the TimberRidge brand (and is having a sale right now I see).

So have a VC 1985 vintage Resolute III and now puffs smoke lots of the time, thinking the baffles are full of ash or something but if it cannot be fixed need a new stove and saw an Englander at Home depot. VERY inexpensive and want to know from owners how well they heat and problems they have with them.

There a many owners of this stove here. It is a great value. Search on 30NC in the title only and you will find hundreds of threads on that topic.

The question isn't why is the nc30 so cheap, but why are the others are so expensive?

I own the nc30 and it has been a great stove. If I wanted a plain, noncat, plate steel stove then I would have a hard time choosing anything but the nc30. What do you get for the extra money?

Better looks easier to work on more durable construction and dealer support. I know you dont think dealer support is a big deal but to many it is essential. Now whether all of that is worth the extra money is up to the consumer to some it is to some it is not.

So what company actually makes the stove ando why do they use different names at different stores?.....

England's Stove Works makes them. Their customer service manager @stoveguy2esw is a member here and can answer the question. But my take is that they started doing that back in the days when stove dealers sold the Englander brand and they started moving into the mass retail channel. Dealers don't cotton to mass market stores selling the same thing they do.

Thank you Brother Bart for that explanation. Guess home depot will get an order for the englander 30 nc....all prices I see are 899....any cheaper?..old threads say they find them cheaper but I guess that's out the window now days!....still dang good stove for the price even though I haven't pulled the trigger

Stove discounts usually are usually found out of season. Demand is probably picking up now that the leaves are changing and nights are getting colder.

I bought my Englander through Home Depot at the time, but honestly wouldn't hesitate purchasing a factory refurb from AMFM Energy if you want to save $50 more bucks....
