Yesterday it was 37 and poured all day. Today was 37 and foggy. That’s maybe a few degrees warmer than normal.

Pretty much the same here, without the rain. Higher elevations nearby got a really nice coating of ice tru the day though.

A day without rain :) we had a dusting of snow overnight and we'll pretty much get the same from this system.
2024 severe weather!

Dang it. We got your rain. It's been raining all day. 35 F. And very windy. Just plain nasty out.

The rain sucks, especially up here. The snowmobile trails are closed from what I read last night. We usually get firewood before we get heavy snows, lately it has been between the heavy rains.

Rain, freezing rain and sleet for part of yesterday. Looks like there is 6-8" out there that fell overnight. Can't be a light fluffy snow as parts of the roof are dumping already. Welcome to Monday :p

Maybe some freezing drizzle for tomorrow.

Freezing drizzle is likely to develop Thursday morning and potentially
persist throughout the day. Warm antecedent temperatures will likely
limit ice accretion to elevated surfaces, but slick travel could be
possible across the Adirondacks and from the Green Mountains
eastward.

well, still waiting for severe weather 2024 lol.
The jinx has started, dang U @joop , what will come next.

Earthquake near Massena felt across St. Lawrence County, no damage reported

Posted Thursday, February 1, 2024 12:17 pm
Residents around St. Lawrence County felt a 3.2-magnitude earthquake which struck near the U.S. Canadian border this morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake struck around 7:30 a.m. near Huntingdon, Canada, which is about 50 miles from Massena.
County residents as far away as Waddington reportedly felt the tremors.
The quake reportedly had a depth of more than 4.5 miles.

To date, there have been no reported injuries and no damage reported.

I’m not sure an earthquake is considered weather, lol.

I’m all for blaming the Canadians for it though!

Speaking of weather, we're getting mostly rain today which will change to snow every so often.

I can believe we’ll have an early spring with this weather we’ve been having. I have some maple trees tapped and the sap is flowing

Im in upstate NY and this is our 10 day forecast. Sweet

2024 severe weather!

Last year we had a few faux springs before the real one though. Either way I’ll take it.

We’re down to 17 tonight. No idea what the wind chill will be. It’s blowing strong. We’ve got a weird inversion or something going on too. No smoke inside, or visible outside, but it’s dropping to ground level outside. Who knows, it might not even by my smoke, lol. It might be rolling across the ice.

Nothing severe in the forecast but it looks like once we get to February 15, we'll start seeing some single digit temps at night. I think it was last year on 2/3 or 2/4 we were minus 33 so single digit temps are fine with me.
