Yes it is.

Yes it is.

If that conversion to usd is correct then 3000$ is not a bad deal for a top of the line ultra. Make sure it is a current model with the new door latch. That should get you the new process weldments on the bypass retainers too.

I paid $3200 out the door here in michigan a few months ago for the ultra princess with blowers, was quoted 3800 for the ashford 30 with blowers and gun metal grey paint job

I have to say in real life the stove looks decent, pictures do not serve justice.

This is so true. My neighbor's Princess looks great in person and with the heat radiating out with the fans on, he says now the kitchen is warm, not so with the old (1991) Lopi. Holds a huge amount of wood too.

I won’t even tell you what I paid for my Ashford 30.1’s... but then again, I got a quantity discount. ;-)

I was out the door for $3.3k CAD for my Ashford...

Delivery costs must play a big role in BK pricing... paid exactly 5.000€ (6k$ plus) for my Ashford. But I don’t regret a single cent.

Interesting, I thought the ashford was more expensive than the princess
New Old Stock, two years old, they wanted it off the floor, got a deal.

I am envisioning the guys in the office at BK pulling euros out of a big bag of coins and squinting at them in doubt and wonder. "What IS this stuff?" "Who told you this was MONEY, Earl?" "Look, this one has a dong on it!" "Hey, they ALL have dongs on them!" "That's Sweden and Finland, Earl..."

This is a more less breakdown:

Stove 3650
Flue system 2790
Labour 700
Tax 1071
Total 8200

That is one expensive chimney!

I think so too.
7' of double wall black
2 45s
Through wall necessary items
26' of Selkirk stainless
Tee and a clean out

This guy had a very strong opinion against OAK.

LOL...

Quite a range in prices. Those dang dealers can charge whatever they want! Can’t blame shipping cost for all of these variations. Perhaps discounting old or display stock is what we’re seeing here.

That’s also a big chimney! And a Tee system, the price may not be all that high after all.

Using the prices I paid for my setup here on the Island I get $2300 before tax for your setup not including the thru-wall parts, so that's probably pretty close ,and the price for the stove is about middle of the road from dealers here.

Guys, I have about three cords of fresh cut red maple. Can I burn this stuff next year in a Ashford if the moisture is running 19 to 21%? Will that hurt the combustor? Thanks.

Soft maple is a staple for me, it’ll burn fine. Any cord wood seasoned to 20ish percent will be fine.

It's free so Iwas not going to turn it down. I am considering a Ashford for next year. I have plenty of wood. Just not 4 years old.

For those that are on the fence with the Bk, let me tell you about my past 23 days. I've owned a bk now for 5 seasons, I have a princess with a strait up flue approx. 18ft in height, I burn a mixture of oak, maple, ash, with some black locust mixed in, all the firewood measures between 14 - 18% moisture content.
I main job is a utility worker and living in NJ some off you guys know we had a rough start to March, actually we have had a rough March, I went to work on March 2nd and worked 16hr days until yesterday March 23rd. In that time I've had multiple days were I couldn't make it home due to multiple harsh winter storms.
The BK did fine though, in that period of time I never had to use matches to re-lite the stove. I would fill the stove box to the gills twice a day, once around 4:30 am, and then again at 11pm, I would burn low during the day and high at night, the house temps were consistently between 74deg and 65deg at its lowest points. The back up heat never came on. Outside temps were in the low 30's during the day and upper teens at night.
The last leg of my OT journey landed me in south jersey for 2 days, I wasn't able to make it home, surprisingly though, when I came home last night, I had enough coals to rake forward and do a simple re-lite, The BK line up is like no other in my opinion, I will forever have one in my home.

Yeah, many of you in that region would like to forget March 2018 altogether. Every single of those nor'easter missed us.

Kenny,

On your high burn 5.5 hrs with a full box of hardwood what cat/flue temps were you seeing?

I will be ok if you say "none" since you were asleep.....

Back of my eyelids, but I had tons of fuel left over in the am.
